Trainee Estimator / Estimator – Bedford
An outstanding flooring subcontractor in Bedford has an opportunity for a Trainee Estimator or experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. They are financially strong, expanding, have an excellent, skilled and friendly team, and are looking for someone who wants to learn, progress and grow in a fast‑paced environment.

Our client specialises in installing floor and wall finishes and is quickly becoming known for its unrivalled quality and service. They operate across several sectors including Airports, Healthcare, Defence, Leisure, Commercial, Hotels, Education and Residential.
The Role – Trainee Estimator / Estimator
This is a full‑time, office‑based role with site visits. You will assist with and develop skills in:
· Reviewing drawings and specifications · Quantity take‑offs · Preparing estimates and costings · Supplier and subcontractor enquiries · Comparing quotations and supporting procurement · Assisting with tender submissions · Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting
You will be working on commercial contracts valued between £50,000 – £1m.
This role is suitable for: · Someone with a construction qualification looking for their first role · Someone wanting a sideways move into estimating · Someone with existing estimating experience looking for a new opportunity
The Right Person – Trainee Estimator / Estimator
· Educated to A Level standard or equivalent · Good attention to detail · Able to work to deadlines in a high‑pressure environment · Proficient in Microsoft Office · Strong organisational and communication skills · Able to work independently and within a team · Experience in negotiation is beneficial · Any construction‑related qualification or experience is an advantage
