Setting Out Engineer – Residential Groundworks
Location: Huntingdon (with travel across sites)
Salary: Up to £45,000 plus mileage, bonus, pension
Holiday: 23 days of annual leave

What You Will Do
As a Setting Out Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency across multiple sites. Your responsibilities will include:
- Checking and using the latest drawings and details for site operations
- Liaising with contracts managers, foremen, and client engineers to resolve discrepancies
- Maintaining and calibrating instruments to ensure accuracy
- Keeping detailed records and paperwork for future reference
- Monitoring site progress and allocating resources effectively
- Building strong relationships with client engineers and site teams
- Supporting health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and method statements
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced engineer with:
- Background in housing and infrastructure projects
- Proven setting out experience in residential groundworks (roads and sewers)
- Ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously
- Strong AutoCAD knowledge and numerical reasoning skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Highly organised, accurate, and self‑motivated approach
