Quantity Surveyor
Watford Up to £65,000 + Bonus + Benefits Hybrid Working
Our client is a construction consultancy with newly acquired, modern offices in Watford. They operate across two sides of the business:
- Main Contractor Side – supporting high‑end residential, refurbishment, commercial, groundworks, infrastructure and electrical projects.
- Subcontractor Side – delivering balustrades, staircases, balconies and glass packages on major infrastructure and commercial schemes.
Due to continued growth, the subcontractor division now requires a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial activity across multiple live projects.

The Role
You’ll work across both the Main Contractor and Subcontractor sides of the consultancy, with an immediate focus on subcontractor projects.
Main Contractor Exposure:
- Prime residential
- High‑end refurbishment
- Groundworks & infrastructure
- Commercial construction
- Electrical works
- New build developments
- Pre‑construction support and measurement
Subcontractor Responsibilities (Immediate Need):
- Applications for payment
- Variations
- NEC contract administration
- CVRs and commercial reporting
- Managing staircases, balconies, balustrades and glass packages
- Projects from £200k to £2m
- Commercial oversight of approx. £3m of live work
You’ll be based mainly in Watford, with occasional visits to client offices in Bedfordshire (typically twice a month)

- Procurement and tender support
- Valuations and payments
- Variation management
- NEC & JCT contract administration
- CVRs and commercial performance
- Pre‑construction measurement
- Final accounts
- Client and subcontractor liaison
About You
- 4 years+ Quantity Surveying experience
- Confident managing commercial duties independently
- Backgrounds welcomed: main contracting, refurbishment, prime residential, groundworks, infrastructure, commercial construction, M&E, subcontractor QS
- Strong Assistant QS ready to step up also considered
- Tendering/measuring experience useful for contractor side
- Proactive, commercially aware, ready to progress
