The business has been operating for more than 20 years and delivers mechanical, electrical and wider project services across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and public sector environments. You will join a close-knit team where decisions are made quickly, senior management is accessible and you will have the freedom to run your projects properly.

It is a hands-on role with plenty of ownership and the opportunity to work across a varied project portfolio.

The Role

  • Manage mechanical projects from pre-construction through to practical completion and handover
  • Take control of programmes, design coordination, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning
  • Coordinate subcontractors, engineers, supervisors, suppliers and site teams
  • Monitor budgets, variations, valuations, forecasts and project performance
  • Work closely with clients, consultants, main contractors and the wider design team
  • Lead progress, design, technical and subcontractor meetings
  • Manage RFIs, technical queries, design changes and project documentation
  • Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, architectural and structural packages
  • Keep quality, health and safety, RAMS, permits and CDM requirements on track
  • Deal with technical, commercial and programme issues and report progress to senior management

What You’ll Need

  • Experience working as a Mechanical Project Manager within building services or M&E
  • A background delivering commercial fit-out, refurbishment or design and build projects
  • Good technical knowledge of HVAC, heating, ventilation, chilled water, LTHW, domestic water services, drainage, BMS integration and plantrooms
  • Experience managing subcontractors, site teams, programmes and procurement
  • Commercial awareness, including budgets, variations and cost control
  • Good knowledge of UK construction, health and safety and CDM requirements
  • SMSTS and CSCS
  • A mechanical qualification such as an HNC, HND or degree would be useful, although strong practical experience will also be considered
  • Based within commuting distance of Milton Keynes and able to travel to project locations when required

Salary & Package

  • Basic salary up to £75,000
  • Company car or car allowance
  • Bonus
  • Secure pipeline of work with a well-established contractor
  • Varied projects across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and public sector environments
  • Visible role with direct access to senior decision-makers
  • Supportive team and a straightforward working environment
