Building Services Project Manager (M&E)

Salary: Circa £75,000, depending on experience
Location: Witney, Oxfordshire

An established employee-owned main contractor is looking for a Building Services Project Manager to manage its mechanical and electrical services from tender and design coordination through to commissioning, handover and aftercare. The business has been operating for more than 50 years and delivers projects across the pharmaceutical, commercial, automotive and healthcare sectors throughout Oxfordshire.

The role

• Manage and coordinate all aspects of the M&E design from tender through to completion.
• Manage mechanical, electrical and specialist subcontractors, staying closely involved in day-to-day site delivery.
• Set and maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, compliance and communication.
• Organise and attend programme meetings to protect the build programme and resolve issues early.
• Make sure all building services meet Building Control requirements and are ready for handover.
• Liaise regularly with the client’s consultants throughout construction and commissioning.
• Coordinate system demonstrations with the client’s consultants.
• Ensure drawings, operation and maintenance information and handover records are completed on time.
• Provide technical support to the project team and specialist contractors.

Commissioning and aftercare

• Produce commissionability and design reviews.
• Carry out installation inspections, report findings and communicate actions to the wider team.
• Review draft and final test packs, specialist commissioning work packages and test reports before client issue.
• Attend commissioning and project meetings.
• Coordinate communication between the commissioning specialists and project team.
• After completion, arrange regular meetings with the client and facilities team so outstanding issues are dealt with promptly.

What we’re looking for

• Experience managing mechanical and electrical building services on live construction projects.
• A strong understanding of M&E design coordination, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Experience managing M&E subcontractors, specialist contractors and consultants.
• Confident programme management, technical problem-solving and client communication skills.
• Knowledge of compliance, Building Control and operation and maintenance information.
