Assistant Building Services Manager

Salary: Circa £45,000, depending on experience
Location: Witney, Oxfordshire
Package: Two annual bonuses, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and additional company benefits

We are working with an established, employee-owned main contractor to recruit an Assistant Building Services Manager for projects across Oxfordshire. The company has operated for more than 50 years, has a strong record of developing its staff, and gives employees a share in the business’s success. The role

You will work alongside the Services Project Manager, helping to coordinate the mechanical and electrical packages from design through to commissioning and handover. Day to day, you will work with specialist subcontractors, pick up design queries and help the wider project team keep the job safe, compliant and on programme.

• Help coordinate the mechanical and electrical design with consultants and the project team.
• Oversee specialist M&E subcontractors and stay close to progress on site.
• Keep an eye on health and safety, quality and compliance standards.
• Attend programme meetings and flag anything that could affect delivery.
• Check installations are ready for testing, commissioning and handover.
• Liaise with the client’s consultants throughout the construction and commissioning stages.
• Coordinate system demonstrations and handover information.
• Work with the site, design and commercial teams to sort technical issues as they arise.

What we’re looking for

• HND, HNC or a similar qualification in a mechanical, electrical or building services discipline.
• Experience delivering mechanical or electrical packages on new-build construction projects.
• A practical understanding of building services coordination, installation and handover.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to work well with subcontractors, consultants and site teams.
• A collaborative, problem-solving approach.
• Full UK driving licence.
