Hours: 7.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday

Overview
A long-established main contractor delivering Special Projects and Framework schemes requires an experienced Site Manager. The role covers multiple live sites across Surrey, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire. Projects typically range up to £1m, including refurbishment, planned works, minor new build elements and framework-based delivery. Strong health and safety knowledge is essential, along with confidence delivering toolbox talks. Candidates may come up through the trades route or a qualified construction management route. Experience delivering new build and refurbishment projects is required.
The Role
The Site Manager will oversee day-to-day operations on Special Projects and Framework schemes up to £1m, ensuring safety, quality, programme and client expectations are met. The role involves managing trades, subcontractors and site activities, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards and ensuring works are delivered to specification.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily site operations on Special Projects and Framework schemes up to £1m
• Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings
• Maintain compliance with health and safety standards and safe systems of work • Oversee trades, subcontractors and supply chain partners
• Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective actions where required • Maintain quality control and ensure works meet specification
• Manage client communication, progress updates and expectations
• Maintain accurate site records, reporting and documentation
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to required standards
Person Specification
• Site Manager with main contractor experience
• Background delivering Special Projects, Frameworks, small works, new build and refurbishment schemes
• Confident delivering toolbox talks and managing site safety
• Up through trades or qualified construction route
Qualifications
• CSCS (appropriate grade)
• SMSTS
• First Aid
• Trade background or HNC/Degree in Construction
