Junior Document Controller

Corby / Hybrid Working £30,000 – £35,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

A growing and award-winning main contractor is looking to appoint a Junior Document Controller to support its expanding project and design teams in Corby.

Operating across the later living, multi-room and life science sectors, the business delivers high-quality, design-led projects typically ranging from £10m–£30m. With strong repeat business, modern delivery methods and a collaborative working culture, the company offers an excellent environment for long-term career development and progression.

This is a strong opportunity for someone currently working as a Construction Administrator who feels stuck in general administration and wants to move into a clearer, more structured role with proper progression, training and a long-term career path.

The Role

As Junior Document Controller, you will support the project delivery teams, design managers and site personnel with accurate document control, project information management and day-to-day administration. You’ll help make sure drawings, technical documents, RFIs, meeting records and project updates are issued, tracked and filed correctly.

The role is ideal for someone organised, proactive and comfortable working in a construction office environment, who now wants to specialise in document control rather than remain in a general admin position.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and update project documentation, drawing registers and document control systems.

Support project and design teams with document control processes, meeting coordination and information management.

Assist with issuing, tracking and filing design information, RFIs, technical queries and change control documentation.

Prepare reports, minutes, schedules and project updates as required.

Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to help keep project information moving and ensure documents are issued on time.

Assist with setting up new project folders, templates, workflows and communication channels.

Assist with compliance documentation, statutory approvals and project records.

Provide general administrative support across the office and project teams.

Help maintain organised digital and physical filing systems.

Build your knowledge of document control, project processes and wider construction delivery as the role develops.

Requirements

Experience in construction administration, project administration, site administration or a similar support role within a contractor, consultant or technical environment.

Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Confident managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Good communication skills with the ability to liaise across multiple disciplines.

Confident using Microsoft Office, with any exposure to document management systems being useful but not essential.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

A genuine interest in developing a career in document control, with the willingness to learn structured project processes and systems.

What’s on Offer

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience

Discretionary Annual Bonus

Private Medical Insurance

Free On-Site Parking

Hybrid working after probation: 2 days in the office and 3 days from home, with the occasional site day around 1–2 days per month

Excellent Career Development Opportunities

This is a fantastic opportunity for a construction administrator ready to move into document control, gain proper training and build a long-term career with a successful and growing contractor.
