The Role
You will join a busy preconstruction team working on a mix of new build, refurbishment, alteration and fit‑out projects up to £20m. Work spans multiple sectors, including Education, Healthcare, Community, Industrial, Leisure & Retail and Commercial Buildings. Working hours: 8.30am – 5pm with 1 hour for lunch.
A key part of the role will include mentoring and supporting an Assistant Estimator, helping them develop their technical skills, commercial awareness and confidence within the team.
Responsibilities
- Preparing cost plans, tenders and estimates
- Leading the estimating process across multiple projects
- Working closely with design, commercial and operational teams
- Liaising with supply chain partners to secure competitive pricing
- Providing guidance and day‑to‑day support to an Assistant Estimator
- Supporting junior team members where required
About You
- Experienced Estimator within the construction industry
- Background working for a main contractor on new build or refurbishment schemes
- Self‑directed, organised and highly motivated
- Able to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Strong team player with good communication skills
