The Opportunity
A specialist contractor delivering roofing, cladding and façade projects across the UK is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to strengthen safety performance and drive continuous improvement across multiple sites.
This role suits a proactive health and safety professional who enjoys influencing best practice, shaping standards and working closely with senior leadership, site teams and clients. You’ll play a key part in promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance across a diverse project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead health, safety and compliance strategy across roofing and façade operations
• Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
• Monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Investigate incidents, near misses and non‑conformances, implementing corrective actions
• Develop and review policies, procedures and risk management systems
• Provide guidance to managers, site teams and subcontractors
• Deliver training, toolbox talks and safety awareness initiatives
• Ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards and client requirements
• Produce reports, analyse trends and present recommendations
• Support the development of a positive, proactive safety culture.
About You – Essential
• Experience as a Health & Safety Manager, SHEQ Manager, HSQE Manager or similar
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation. • Experience conducting audits, inspections and investigations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to influence teams at all levels
• Strong organisational and reporting skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Desirable
• Experience within roofing, cladding, facades or building envelope sectors
• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
• Experience managing safety across multiple sites
• Knowledge of refurbishment and new‑build projects.
