The Role – Business Development Manager

This role offers the opportunity to shape the company’s future pipeline and play a key part in strategic growth.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, expanding client relationships, and supporting the company’s growth across civil engineering and M&E projects. The role requires a proactive, commercially minded individual with a strong network and proven track record in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across rail, airports, energy, and wider infrastructure sectors
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
  • Lead tendering and bid activity in collaboration with internal teams
  • Attend client meetings, industry events, and site visits to promote the company’s capabilities
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial, Operations, and Engineering teams to align business development strategy with delivery capability
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and commercial documentation
  • Contribute to long‑term business planning and revenue forecasting
  • Represent the company professionally and consistently across all interactions

The Right Person

  • Minimum 5 years’ proven experience as a Business Development Manager in the construction industry
  • Experience within the energy sector or commercial construction is highly desirable
  • Demonstrable track record of winning work and growing accounts
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied workload
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach
  • Willingness to travel nationwide as required
  • Able to commute to head office in Luton as and when required for meetings
